Any good advice on a golf-related injury?

Two months ago, I was at the golf course and I swung the club too hard, causing some pain in my left upper arm. This has been a nagging kind of pain; not so painful that it interferes with my daily routine, but painful enough to notice when I raise my arm in the motion where it’s raised forward then up. Are there any good exercises or stretches or remedies for this? Like I said, the pain has lingered for two months.

Are you serious with this? If you have pain/ discomfort/ injury regardless of sports related or not, GO SEE A DOCTOR! Do not seek the advice of a freaking message board.
Remember pro Paul Azzinger? He developed an injury that nagged him in his swing. Turned out he was fortunate he saw his doctor when he did. Not saying this to scare you…just saying.

Just do the exercises which cause you less pain than forward and up. Once you have pain try to quit until that pain is gone. That may be a while but it does give the injured muscle a chance to heal properly.

I feel bad about your pain, and think some careful stretching will help. Also, there are some excellent topical pain relief lotions out there. You also might want to consider Natural Golf; far fewer injuries.

Like Googie said, stop playing golf for at least a month, but I want to suggest stretching in addition to the rest. Lift both arms up to your shoulder heights and swing around like bird wings slowly. If you are okay with initial speed, then go bigger and faster swing. Good luck.
